‘Medium of being’ is a sofa designed for public use and also a sign and a record of the existence of its users. The surface’s covering (heated liquid crystal sheet) and internal cushioning material display a delayed ‘recovery’ to the impressions left by those sitting in the seat. The internal ‘ekusu gel’ records the imprint of the user in form, colour and temperature for a certain time.
The memory of those recently present but now absent connects the individual with the public. This design is one of the present time.
